I was a Scientologist for many years and worked in a large variety of their organization. I didn’t truly realize the depth of my experiences until I put them together in one book. I have definitely travelled the ins and outs and ups and downs of this controversial international group.

Early in her Scientology career, she spent five years as a covert agent engaged in espionage activities for the Church’s shadowy Guardian’s Office. After leaving the Sea Org she spent an additional two years as an undercover operative for the “reformed” Guardian’s Office, the Office of Special Affairs, which continued the same pattern of covert intelligence and dirty tricks against the Church’s perceived enemies while using intense legal attacks and bolstered by hire private investigators. She personally experienced the Sea Organization’s Rehabilitation Project Force; a labor camp where erring members are “re-educated”.

When her loyalty came into question she was subjected to weeks of grueling interrogation, ending up in restraints after being rushed to a hospital by ambulance, unable to even recognize her husband.

It is a shocking story of abuse, imprisonment, espionage, lies, mental torture and suicide- vital reading for anyone who wants to know what goes on behind Scientology’s curtain.

I read your book last nite cover to cover in one sitting. Wow – great story, great writing! I am buying these for friends and family who keep asking me …”so what made you stay in for so long??!!??” Your book really explains the weird phenomenon that makes a cult a cult and why smart people make dumb decisions.

I wanted to let you know I finished reading your book last night. What a story! It held my interest all the way through, obviously because I lived through a lot of it myself and found it fascinating, but also because it was well written and kept me wondering what came next.

You obviously put a lot of thought into putting these memories into order and making some sense out of some very senseless events. The result is very coherent and consistent – and the picture it ends up painting of Scientology is appalling and frightening. I never lost my mind, thank god, but I remember coming close to it. And certainly I lost myself – my own purposes, goals and my belief in myself. I just became an unthinking worker bee, day after day, accepting the abuse. I’m just thankful that I came to my senses enough to refuse to go back on post and refuse the RPF (Rehabilitation Project Force) and insist on being offloaded…
